Personal, Couples, and Group Counseling

Bruce Silverman, MABRUCE SILVEMAN, MA is a counselor in private practice since 1984, working with individuals, couples, families, and groups.

Bruce trained in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, California, and practices "depth psychology," that is, moving the client through and beyond the surface issues and into the more core elements of psyche.

Bruce utilizes traditional psychotherapeutic techniques along with creative dream work, mythological insight, rites of passage perspectives, gestalt work, and healing-sound work. He is eclectic enough, and experienced enough to work with a variety of complex issues.

He is an expert in men's issues; he founded the Sons of Orpheus (described in detail throughout this web site) in 1987 and continues to direct this well known men's healing community. He has published a variety of articles in men's journals and was honored with a full page article in Newsweek Magazine. (June:1991) This community expanded to also include women 15 years ago. Clients often find it helpful to move from individual work to group work as the process unfolds- and Bruce continues to lead the two evening groups: one exclusively for men, the other, mixed.

Bruce teaches and directs the masters program at Wisdom University, formerly Naropa University, an institution of higher learning committed to personal, professional, and planetary renewal.
