“Break a vase
and the love it takes
to reassemble
the fragments,
is stronger
than that love,
which took it’s symmetry for granted
when it was whole”

BRUCE SILVERMAN, MA, Ph.D. (Hon) is a counselor in private practice since 1984, working with individuals, couples, families, and groups.

He is trained in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology at John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, California, and practices "depth psychology," which involves moving the client through and beyond the surface issues and into the more core elements of the psyche.

Bruce utilizes a wide variety of traditional therapeutic techniques and has considerable experience with relationship and communication issues, grieving and loss, trauma, abuse, depression and anxiety. His considerable training in transpersonal realms gives him a broader perspective for his creative and embodied dream work, archetypal gestalt work, rites of passage elements, and healing/sound work

He is an expert in men's issues; he founded the Sons of Orpheus (described in detail throughout this web site) in 1987 and continues to direct this well known men's healing community. He has published a variety of articles in men's journals and was honored with a full page article in Newsweek Magazine. (June:1991) This community expanded to also include women in 1990. Clients often find it helpful to move from individual work to group work as the process unfolds. Bruce continues to lead the two evening groups: one exclusively for men, the other, mixed.
